Foster a Cat
The purpose of our Foster Program is to find temporary homes for cats with special needs. The Foster Program also allows HTAT to expand its capacity to take in cats when our shelter is full.
Special needs cats who require foster care could be:
-
pregnant or nursing queens;
-
kittens, with or without their mothers;
-
Safety Net Foster cats;
-
injured cats; and
-
cats who cannot cope with life in a shelter.
Our neediest time for fosters is June through October (otherwise known as Kitten Season). The most important question to ask yourself before filling out this application is: Can you emotionally deal with returning a foster cat for adoption, or the very rare occasion when a foster cat dies?
If your answer is yes, thank you for your generosity and compassion to offer a special needs cat a temporary safe haven until it finds its forever home.
